The Brigade is Structured around three Commando Units: 40 Cdo RM, 42 Cdo RM and 45 Cdo Gp RM. These are re-enforced by the Combat Support and Combat Service Support from within. Providing the necessary specialist skills and flexibility expected of an Amphibious Assault Force engaged in a Rapid Reaction intervention, and to maintain it in that task. In transition to war the Brigade is enhanced by Royal Marines Reservists plus Gunners, Engineers and Logisticians from Territorial Army Commandos. It is otherwise a self contained Brigade capable of full deployment of its leading elements and logistic support in less than 7 days, as demonstrated during Operation HAVEN, when the Brigade deployed to Northern Iraq in 1991.
