I would suspect that your civilian street career in the computer field will be no less successful. I found your site when I joined Tibbo's Top 50 Military sites and will now cast my vote for your site. I am in the process of learning how to build a web page (doing it the hard way without the scriptwriters so that I can gain a little experience with HTML.) Time: 2000-03-13 20:00:10 Comments: Just a few lines foir all who attended the RM Poole sigs re-union on 11 Mar 00. Hope you all had a great night folks, judging by the amount of Guinness and other girly wets consumed it seemed toi be a good blast. For all those who said they'd come but didn't...you will never know what you missed. A few lamps were swung... a load of dits re-visited and passed on to others; but by far the most amazing thing to behold was how young, lithe and fit all looked...... I swear it was a room of 22 yr olds. Also if anyone from that night is missing some personal items ring me on 01202 674845 and reclaim them... or they're for the skip. My last note is for mick mcgrady... for the next re-union get off the train at Exeter turn right and go on for approx 60 miles instead of getting the train to P O O L E !!!. Look forward to the next one. Paddy G |

Well they say we only get nostalgic about the Corps after youve been out approxiamtely 10 years, well its knocking on 11 years nearly for me. Ive yet to explore this sight completely, but in my experience there is a need for this sight as it could be very beneficial to employers such as myself who may be looking for switched on people to employ, likewise for lads leaving could see if any jobs are available. So it may be worth considering the facility to post ones CV on this sight. Mo Morris |

Problem is Tony, the old memory is playing up and some of the names are familiar but cannot confirm if they're the mates of old, or someone sounding familiar (like Doc Coy, Harry Briggs & Tony Lang etc). So, how about starting a rogues gallery of who we are, to be placed with our email info? We could send you the shots if you could place them into the system. keep up the good work. Name: Rob Wallace Website: Referred by: Another Bootneck From: Living in Exmouth Time: 2000-02-04 18:33:35 Comments: Hi guys Found this web-site through Pat Thomas's warning order for the sig branch reunion. Nice one Tony - nice to see that all those courses you talked the Corps into paying for are finally being put to some good use. I left the Corps about 3 (?4 the old mind has gone) years ago and am just about to complete my training as a Mental Health Nurse. I'm finding it quite easy to be honest. As the RM Sig Branch sponsor I used to have to look after 500 lunatics - now it's only 24. Mind you - the clients I look after now were never as deluded as most guys in the Corps (e.g we were all good looking, bronzed gods chased by blonde nymphaminiacs that we had to fight off so that we could sink another barrel of beer). Nice to join the site - for Pat and any old oppos out there I will be attending the branch re-union. If that news puts anyone off - well c'est la vie Cheers Maties By the way - my boy is joining the navy on monday as an articifer - far too intelligent to join the Corps!! |

He was possibly a clerk based at Dieppe Bks, down the road from Dockyard/HMS Terror. He married a local girl, Daisy in about 1969 - she was Ceylonese I think. I'm an ex LRO RAN and first met him in 67 when I was on HMAS Vendetta and I last saw them when I was HMAS Parramatta in 71. I think he was from the north of England. Any help much appreciated, Les Thurgood e.mail l.thurgood@bom.gov.au or snailmail, The Croft, Mt Macedon, Victoria 3441, Australia. |

I spent the last ten years of my service with the Corps and they were the happiest of my service life. I shot at Bisley, sailed corp yachts, played a lot of squash and got involved in Medical monitoring aspects of the Commando Course. Following A levels I went to Exeter University to study Psychology and have just retired. I served in 42 Cdo (Borneo/Malaya) and CTCRM. Just off to Malaya for a holiday in January to see what changes have taken place. We did a bandit search at Tiomen which was uninhabited in 1965 now it's a tourist centre!!!!!! |

For those who do not know me (Ugh, If only we could say that I hear you say) I am ex Sigs. I joined up in 1965 and did my sigs course S3/3/68 with the likes of Dave Dillnut and Bob Broad etc. Tours in 40, 41, 42, 3Cdo Bde,Albion, Bulwark, Intrepid, Hermes and a couple of stints with 3BAS. The long history is because it would be great to hear from any of you guys who were there. I have persuaded my nephew to leave the sunny climes of Capetown, South Africa, where he was in the South African Navy; to come here and join the Corps. He passes out in December and I told him it would be best to become a signaller. I wonder if he will ever forgive me! All the best everyone, give us a call sometime regards Cossie |
